We have a chance to change Alex’s future for the better. They will be running events, racing, trekking, climbing, in some cases jumping out of a plane and direct sponsorship, all to give Alex the chance to live his life like all of us.
Alex struggles on a daily basis since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). He is a fantastic father to two beautiful children and an amazing husband, but since diagnosis, he has been plagued with the knowledge that MS is slowly taking hold of his body and his life. His health has deteriorated significantly when he had a major relapse in 2013 leaving him with further disability after losing control of his legs. He is challenged on a daily basis with fatigue and anxiety as well as daily nerve and joint pain, muscle spasms, balance issues, weakness and loss of stamina in his legs.
Alex has the chance to go to Russia for life-changing stem cell treatment, called HSCT (Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant), at the National Pirogov Medical Centre in Moscow, under Dr Denis Federenko, who has successfully treated hundreds of MS sufferers.
For Alex to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity, it costs a significant amount of money, and that is where we need your help. Costs include flights, treatment, rehabilitation, and after-care on returning home.
We need to raise at least £52,000 to cover all of these costs. Help us change Alex’s life for the better by donating to his GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/help-alex-beat-ms-with-chemohsct
