We have recently completed another successful project, a Residential Refurbishment at 39 Connaught Street.
39 Connaught Street is a terraced three-storey building. The building has a ground floor entrance to the two-storey residential accommodation on the first and second floors and a Retail Unit at ground and basement levels. 39 Connaught Street is situated a few steps from Hyde Park, Mayfair and Oxford Street. The project was to refurbish existing residential accommodation on the first & second floors. Works included strip out, new ceilings, partitions, electrics, plumbing, flooring and decorations.
The external works included scaffolding, roof repairs, cornice repairs, decorations, and specialist brickwork cleaning.
The project was challenging due to the fire flue replacement. Replacing the fire flue was difficult because the previous one was cemented in situ. This involved removing the tiling to the bathroom to enable the existing flue to be removed/replaced. Also, we had noise/dust issues during the build, which meant we had to maintain good relationships with tenants on either side of us and regularly update them on work.
