Project Type: External Residential Refurbishment

Contract Administrator: Cushman & Wakefield Project Management & Consultancy

Site Manager: Jonathan Fowler

Client: Strathclyde Pension Scheme

Location: 29-33 Villiers Street, London WC2N

Project Duration: 10 weeks

29-33 Villiers Street is situated in a prime and prominent location between Charing Cross Station and Embankment Station, near Kipling House, where Rudyard Kipling lived in 1889–91 and a few minutes’ walk from Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. The property is a fully occupied residential building from 1st to 4th floors with retail units located on the ground floor.

The property is in an extremely busy area of London and landlocked by adjoining properties. Our site team stepped up to this logistically challenging project to ensure that health and safety was always at the forefront of every work operation and maintained throughout the duration of the works.

The works included external refurbishment and decorations to the rear of 29-33 Villiers Street: flat/mansard roof works, brickwork repairs, guttering/downpipe repairs. Contractor design elements of the works were associated with the scaffold design, relining the parapet gutters, window installation/design, flat roof repairs in accordance with the kemper system and the pigeon netting design.

The works have been completed to a very high standard with our construction teams working hard to ensure the project timeframes and quality were achieved.
