39 Connaught Street is a three-storey terraced building with a ground floor entrance to the two-storey residential accommodation at first and second floors and Retail Unit at ground and basement levels.
The project was to undertake the refurbishment of existing residential accommodation on the 1st & 2nd Floors.
Works included strip out, new ceilings, partitions, electrics, plumbing, flooring and decorations. The external works included scaffolding, roof repairs, cornice repairs, decorations and specialist cleaning of the brickwork.
The project was challenging due to the fire flue replacement. Replacing the fire flue was difficult due to the previous one being cemented in situ, this involved removing the tiling to the bathroom to enable the existing flue to be removed/replaced. Also, we had noise/dust issues during the build meant we had to maintain good relationships with tenants either side of us and regularly updating them on works happening.
