7-8 Philpot Lane is a Grade II listed building. The works consisted of the Internal and external refurbishment of this five storey double fronted office accommodation. This project was commissioned for the new London Headquarters of the Professional Footballers Association.
The building comprises of 4,274 sq ft of office space arranged over basement, ground and three upper floors. The building occupies a prime and prominent position on the west side of Philpot Lane, located near the junctions of Fenchurch Street and Eastcheap and directly opposite the internationally renowned Rafael Viñoly designed 20 Fenchurch Street.
The project was to undertake the refurbishment of the common parts, all floor office spaces and adjoining toilets/showers. The works included strip out, new mechanical & electrical installations, new ceilings, new floor finishes, new sanitaryware, tiling, decorations and joinery, external works and minor roofing works.
The works were completed to a very high standard and this project has been recommended by the City of London for a City Heritage Award and shortlisted as a finalist for the London LABC Building Excellence Awards 2019 in two categories: ‘Best Change of Use of an Existing Building or Conversion’ and ‘Best Small Commercial Project’
